Yes. If your Dropbox Sign signature request is still pending, open it from Documents, choose Edit and resend, correct the document or field, and click Save. Dropbox says this lets you update a sent request without canceling it. This guide is based on Dropbox’s documentation for editing pending signature requests, not hands-on verification.

Open and correct the request

  1. Log in to Dropbox Sign and select Documents in the left sidebar.
  2. Find the pending request you need to correct. Select its more options button, shown as “…”, then choose Edit and resend.
  3. Locate the error in the editor. It opens with the request’s documents, signers, and fields pre-populated, giving you a starting point for the change.
  4. Correct the affected part of the document or adjust the field. If you change document text near a field, inspect that field again to make sure it still belongs where you expect.
  5. Click Save when the corrected request is ready.

Keep the change focused on the error you found. For an incorrect passage, correct that part of the document and inspect any fields affected by it. If the document is correct but a field is wrong, adjust the field and check its placement and assignment. Before saving, compare what is in the editor with the correction you intended to make.

Check the request details before saving

Review the documents, signers, and CC email addresses as part of that final check. Although the editor opens with documents, signers, and fields pre-populated, Dropbox also warns that the sender needs to re-input signers, documents, CC addresses, and other request details when editing. Work through those entries and re-enter them as required. Their appearance when you first open the editor is not a reason to skip this check.

Check signer access codes separately. Dropbox says they do not automatically repopulate. If an access code is needed for the edited request, enter it again before you save.

Also check whether anyone has already signed. Dropbox says previously signed recipients receive an email about the changes and are prompted to re-sign. Unchanged fields may be pre-populated for them, but they need to review their responses and complete any new or changed fields. That consequence applies even if the correction seems small to you. Before saving, decide whether the document and fields are now accurate enough to send back to those recipients for another signature.

If something is missing or unavailable

These steps are for a pending request. If you do not see Edit and resend, check that you selected the intended request and that it is still pending. The cited instructions do not establish an edit path for a request that is no longer pending.

If a signer, document, CC address, or access code is missing while you edit, address it before clicking Save. If an unchanged field shows a previously entered response, check that the response still makes sense with the corrected document; Dropbox cautions that repopulated data can contain errors. The request’s audit trail records changes, so your correction becomes part of that record.
