To save a completed signed document for an internal handoff, find its signature request in Dropbox Sign, download the document, and place it in the agreed handoff location. Choose Download Signed if you need all signed documents from the request in a ZIP. Check the downloaded contents and the handoff copy separately before reporting that it is ready. These steps are based on Dropbox’s help documentation, not hands-on verification.

Find the completed request

Go to app.sign.dropbox.com and log in. Select Documents in the left sidebar, then find the signature request for this handoff. Confirm that you have the right request before choosing a download. A file found later in your download folder may look plausible even if it came from a different request.

Use the vertical three-dot more-options control beside the request. The available choices described by Dropbox are Download, Download PDF, Download as CSV, and Download Signed. These instructions apply after the signature request has been completed. If you cannot identify the completed request, confirm which request belongs to the handoff before passing along a file.

Choose the right download

Select Download or Download PDF for a direct download. Dropbox says documents from the request go to your computer’s Downloads folder unless the default download setting has been changed. If the file is not there, check the location set for your downloads. Choosing an option here does not place a copy in your internal handoff location.

Select Download Signed when the handoff needs all signed documents from the request. Dropbox says this option sends an email with a ZIP containing those documents. Retrieve the ZIP from the email and inspect its contents. Do not assume the ZIP has already been saved where your colleague expects to find it.

Download as CSV serves a different purpose. It sends an email with a ZIP containing a CSV of response data from the request. If the handoff calls for the signed document, a response-data CSV does not fulfill it. Before clicking, make a concrete choice: do you need a direct document download, all signed documents in a ZIP, or the response data?

Check the document and its handoff location

Locate the downloaded file or emailed ZIP. Open the signed document you intend to hand off and check that it belongs to the request you selected, has the expected pages, and contains the completed content you need. If you chose Download Signed, inspect the relevant files inside the ZIP. Its filename alone does not confirm what it contains.

If the file is missing, incomplete, or from the wrong request, resolve that mismatch before handing it off. Recheck the request in Documents and, for a direct download, the folder your browser uses.

Save the verified document in the internal location specified for this handoff. Then open the copy from that location and confirm it is the same document you inspected. A correct file in Downloads or email is only the first check; the handoff is ready when the correct copy is also in the agreed place.
